"I completed an Advanced Diploma in Spanish at the University of Delhi in 2007.
The course, taught by Pablo Brotons, was meant to strengthen our grammar, as well as our oral and written skills in Spanish. This was particularly important to me, as I was pursuing a BA degree (by distance) in Spanish and Latin American Studies at the same time.
What I appreciate about the course run by señor Brotons was the emphasis on the contemporary and literary usages of grammar and vocabulary - the everyday lingo of "hispanohablantes" side-by-side with extracts from literary giants from the Spanish-speaking world.
We also learnt about gestures and the non-verbal aspects of language. Certain classes were thematic, so that we would learn different approaches of presenting and writing about one particular topic. Some of the themes were quite challenging - which meant that class discussion came easily! Mostly, I remember señor Brotons as an intuitive teacher who easily elicits interaction from even the most shy student, because of his personality and the work that he puts into preparing each lesson."
